A little kitten born into Whalley’s Abbey discovers the violin by listening to a concert in the Parish Church. When a local toy store moves, Charlie acquires a miniature fiddle by accident. He dreams of becoming a famous musician but has to learn that practice is the only way to achieve true skill. Once he can play properly, there’s no stopping him and his friend, German Shepherd Belle, as together, they busk through Bowland, until chased into a suspicious, big basket by some irate tups. Next thing they know, they are in a hot air balloon bound for London. How will they fare in the big city and will they want to return to Bowland? Find out in this whimsical, charming picture book of cats and dogs showcasing many Bowland landmarks.
A perfect bound, soft-cover children’s book printed on high end paper with illustrations made of original drawings mixed with photographs to tell the story of Charlie, a kitten born in Whalley, who learns to play the violin. Follow his adventures from the Ribble Valley to London and back on 60 pages filled with whimsical collages of cats, dogs and some recognisable Bowland locations.
